Halloween decorations for every budget

Halloween is on its way! πŸŽƒπŸ’› Which, if you didn’t know already, is my favourite holiday. I love when the shops start putting their Halloween ranges out! Even more so if they do it before putting out their Christmas ranges. πŸ˜‰ Haha. We always decorate the house for Halloween, ever since my sister and I were children. We had both indoor and outdoor decorations, a carved pumpkin (of course) and I’ve kept up the tradition since moving out 5 years ago. Here are a few of the Halloween items I’ve found that I’m loving this year. I’ve tried to include Read More…

Lunch at LBs Cafe (formally the Swan Yard cafe)

When I posted my Cirencester town guide I spoke about Swan Yard and Blackjack Street which are a couple of little side streets in the town, the former was home to the Swan Yard Cafe which was one of my favourite cafes. It closed a few years ago, changed hands, got a new menu, new layout and a new name, and, I didn’t go back after that. I had nothing against the place, the layout and decor looked great and I hadn’t even tried the new menu which sounded great too, but I didn’t go back. I don’t like change Read More…

The Great Western Brick Show

This weekend my family and I attended the Great Western brick show at the Steam Museum, Swindon. It’s a Lego show but you’ll find no kits on display here (albeit plenty in the dealers room πŸ˜‰ ). All the Lego displays are customs! Some big, some small but all very impressive. The great thing about the Great Western brick show is the location. It’s in a steam railway museum and you get to tour the museum as you find your way to the different Lego displays, there’s also a great on site cafe selling hot and cold food and, cupcakes! Bar snacks at The Waggon and Horses, Cirencester

A couple of week’s ago Ryan and I met up with my family in one of our local pubs, The Waggon and Horses for a few drinks after work. I was starving, so decided to try one of their bar snacks; chicken in a basket. When I ordered the dish I expected chicken nuggets or some other breaded chicken but was presently surprised to receive chips and two chicken breasts with the skin on, yummy. There were two options for the dish, spicy or non-spicy. I went for spicy and quickly found out the spicy part was the chips. They Read More…

Morning routines and becoming an early riser 🐦

Last month I talked about working on my evening and bedtime routines to help with my sleeping patterns and get a better nights sleep. One of the things I mentioned was getting up at the same time each day and developing a morning routine, it’s been hard going, especially after last weekend’s Monster Race! My muscles are so sore! I am definitely not a morning person but I am taking steps to make my mornings better and encourage myself to get out from under the covers. πŸ˜‰ πŸ› 1. Being organised the night before Before I go start to relax Read More…

Monster Race

β€œIf you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl. If you can’t crawl, find someone to carry you”. – Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly. In July I signed up for the Winter Monster Race in Wiltshire with some of my colleagues, where we raised money for a local children’s charity: Cirencester Opportunity Group who support children with physical and learning disabilities (you can sponsor us here, if you want to). The Monster races are obstacle course races (OCRs) and contain a range of man made and natural obstacles including climbing, crawling, carrying and wading through muddy water. The race is Read More…
