The Gloucestershire Steam and Vintage Extravaganza 2017

The Gloucestershire Steam & Vintage extravaganza A.K.A. The South Cerney steam rally was last weekend and I went along on the Saturday with my family, another yearly tradition we have. 🙂 Unfortunately it rained. A lot. We were constantly darting in and out of the marquees and trade stands in a vain attempt to stay dry, but it didn’t spoil the show for us! I’m very glad I wore my boots and took a jacket with me. We started off with breakfast (bacon rolls) from our favourite food stand but there are also areas to have a picnic (unsurprisingly we Read More…

London Film and Comic Con 2017 A.K.A. the weekend I met my idol

I’ve just had the most amazing weekend at London Film and Comic Con with my family and my sister’s friend. Honestly I think it was their best one yet but that could be because I checked something off my bucket list! After 19 years or so I finally got to meet one of my idols, Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Alyson Hannigan (Willow). Alyson was announced back in May along with her husband Alexis Denisof who plays Wesley in Buffy and Angel. I checked out the website as soon as they were announced and snapped up a diamond pass for Alyson Read More…

Weekend catch up: Baby Metal, Lush and present shopping

It’s my mum’s birthday in a few weeks so dad and I went present shopping together. It’s becoming a bit of a tradition and I enjoy spending time with him. As Saturday was the only day we both have free between now and her birthday, we decided to go then and chose Cheltenham. I also bought other presents for my family for later on in the year. 🎁🎄 Unfortunately I can’t share what I got them in case they’re reading this 😉 but I can share some of the new bits dad and I treated ourselves to. Our first stop Read More…

Wicksteed Fitness Playgrounds and Outdoor Gyms

Some of my colleagues and I have recently signed up for the Monster Race this year, which is a 5km or 10km obstacle course with mud, water and man made obstacles to conquer (we’re signed up for the 10km); I started my training for it at the weekend. Today’s training was interval running followed by yoga, but I also had an impromptu workout in a local park! I warmed up with a 10 minute run focussing on interval training to work on improving my pace. I did 2 minutes sprinting followed by a 1 minute walk to cool down, the Read More…

No bake Double Decker cheesecake

My dad’s birthday was Wednesday, so we went for food at a local pub, called The Golden Farm, to celebrate. It’s re-opened under new management and this was our first time trying the new menu. Wednesday is their grill night! Steaks, chicken, cumberland sausage, scampi and a vegetarian dish were offered, as well as a few specials. I chose the garlic chicken dish and Dad enjoyed a gammon steak with egg, the meals were cooked by my sister’s partner who works there. All the dishes were served with garlic bread, chips and a side salad, mum and Ryan had Cumberland Read More…

Stand up paddle boarding with Cotswold Water Park

Ryan and I headed to the Cotswold Water Park last weekend to try out stand up paddle boarding on one of their lakes, we chose the facilities provided by Cotswold Water Park Hire, but there are many companies offering this and other water activities across the park. There’s also an inland beach and water obstacle course, and BBQ rental. The majority of the activities are first come first served and you don’t need to prebook but I’d recommend it if you’re going as a larger group, just in case. Cotswold Water Park Hire is based at lake 86, near the Gateway information Read More…
