Autumn tag

This year the Autumn equinox happens in the early hours of the morning on Sunday 23rd September and marks the first day of autumn. It’s the time of year when day and night are almost equal in length. So it must mean I can decorate the house for Halloween on Sunday right? πŸ˜‰πŸŽƒ … Right?Β In celebration of the equinox I’d like to answer the Autumn tag which I found on the blog, That Weird Girl Life.

The Autumn Tag

The rules are simple: answer the questions, tag others to continue the tag, provide the questions for them, and thank the person who tagged you! Easy-peasy!

My Answers:

What Signifies Autumn to You?

When it starts to get darker earlier and the leaves are changing colour and falling from the trees. Also seeing boots and knitwear popping up in high street stores.

What Is the Best Way to Spend a Rainy Day?

Snuggled up on a comfy chair or the sofa with a book and a cup of hot chocolate. Even better if I’m wearing fuzzy socks and in some warm pyjamas. So cosy!

What Is Your Most Fond Autumn Memory?

It has to be all the Halloween nights I’ve spent with my dad decorating the house and handing out sweets to the trick or treaters. Also carving pumpkins! My dad always has such inventive pumpkin designs, like this one.

What is Your Favourite Autumn Scent?

I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite scent but there’s something about the smell of a bonfire on Bonfire Night that appeals to me. Or the smell of a coal burning fire, we used to have one when we were little and it was lovely to sit in front of on a crisp morning.

What Are You Most Excited About This Autumn?

Halloween of course! Seconded by Bonfire Night – I love watching a fireworks display.

What Is Your Favourite Autumn Song?

I don’t know any Autumn songs but one of my favourite Halloween songs is ‘This is Halloween’ from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

What Is Your Favourite Autumn Movie?

Practical Magic definitely gets me in the mood for Autumn. The setting of the movie alone is enough to make me long for cooler weather, I love the quaint little town they live in. Also witches so it’s great for Halloween too.

What TV Show Are You Most Looking Forward to This Autumn?

Speaking of witches, the show I’m looking forward to is the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina which is coming to Netflix. I loved the 90s Nickelodeon show starring Melissa Joan Hart so I’m interested to see what they do with the character.

What Is Your Favourite Autumn Colour?

I love burgundy for clothing and the burnt orange colour leaves change into this time of year.

What Is Your Most Loved Outdoor Autumn Activity?

Definitely long walks on a crisp Autumn morning, preferably through the woodlands and bundled up in a warm jumper or cardigan.

What Is Your Favourite Autumn Fashion Trend?

It has to be warm jumpers and cardigans and fuzzy socks, I also love bobble hats when it gets a lot colder.

If You Could Have a Familiar/Spirit Animal, What Would It Be?

Probably a spider or a penguin.

Name One Place You Wish You Could Visit During Autumn?

I’d love to visit the historic town of Salem, Massachusetts… I’m sensing a witchy themed in this tag.

What Is Your Favourite Photo You Took Last Autumn?

Either this one from the Clifton Suspension bridge in Bristol. Yes the water is very murky and the weather was dreary! But that view and the colourful trees certainly make up for it.

Or this one of my giant pumpkin! πŸ˜πŸŽƒ

What Are You Being This Halloween?

I haven’t made any plans for Halloween yet but I’m more than likely going to dress as Wednesday Addams again this year, as I had a lot of fun being her last year.

Lovely post Kim, autumn is my favourite season as I love the slow build up to Christmas, the cosy autumn fashion, the colours in nature and blogging this time of year. There’s a real autumnal buzz in the blogging community, I love seeing all the different posts and YouTube videos even without being a big fan of Halloween. Thanks for sharing, happy autumn! πŸ™‚ xx
