Flapjack & Brownie treats ft Emerald City Cupcakes *

Emerald City Cupcakes are a bespoke cake company run by the “2 Broke Girls”, at least that’s what we knew them as when we first met them. They were dressed up as the characters from the show and selling cupcakes after all. 😉 Their real names are Sue and Char.

Awesome Mix Vol 2 Cupcake
From MCM Birmingham, March 2018.

We met these two lovely ladies at MCM Birmingham comic con and love their flapjacks, cupcakes and brownies. Love is probably an understatement as dad usually eats them out of flapjack at conventions! So much so that they now bring along extra when they know we’ll be coming… We’re also affectionately known as ‘The Flapjack Family’.

As well as their great range of cupcakes and flapjack and brownie bites, they also offer custom made cakes, gluten and dairy free options, as well as a range of gift ware (like The Walking Dead themed glass above).

New product range

We were pleasantly surprised when they sent us some free samples to try of their new flavour range. Along with a lovely Star Baker sign with a handwritten note on the back.

The only photo I managed to take before they all got eaten! 😅
The Brownies

The chocolate orange one was our favourite. It was the just the right mix of orange and chocolate and tasted just like a Terry’s chocolate. Delicious and perfect for the Christmas season.

Mint chocolate is one of my favourite flavours and this did not disappoint. Its flavour was subtle and not too sweet which is great for a little treat.

Mince Pie Flapjack

The flapjack was dad’s favourite and he said he would definitely buy it if he saw it at comic con. Saying it was very tasty and great for a Christmas treat.

Lotus / Biscoff biscuit

The biscuit while not to our personal taste was exactly right. It tasted much better than a store bought lotus biscuit and we’d be happy to try more of them. 😉

Wagon Wheel

Inspired by The Great British Bake Off perhaps? We found this one too sweet and only managed to get through half of it in one sitting.

You can catch up with these lovely ladies on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

What do you think of these flavours? Let me know in the comments. 😊

* We received some free samples for feedback but I was not obligated to write a review either on my blog or social media. As always all opinions and love of sweet treats are my own.

The mint brownie sounds like the only one that I’d like.

So yummy that you got sent brownies to try though.
