Interview : Cotswold Cook

Cotswold Cook is the brain child of Ryan Butler, a chef with 10 years experience based in Cirencester.

I’m happy to have the opportunity to interview Ryan and find out more about his new venture : Cotswold Cook.

When did you get into cooking?
I started cooking at 21 and became friends with a guy called Paul Mottram who inspired me to go to college and get a career

What chefs inspire you?
Tom Kerridge he’s a local guy and a phenomenal chef. Paul Motteram Hotel du Vin Cheltenham, Olivier Mulkerin Le Savours Exmouth, Ferren Adria, Heston Marco Grant Achatz I find inspiration in many

What is your style of cooking?
Modern British, French undertones but with modern techniques, the emphasis definitely on big flavours and bright colour.

Your favourite places to eat in the Cotswolds?
The Falcon Inn, Poulton is a great place. Great food and a really nice atmosphere; also Piazza Fontana is a wonderful little Italian

How did you come up with the idea for ‘Cotswold Cook’?
Food is massive business these days but surprisingly the Mother teaching her children doesn’t seem to happen as much as it should everyone is so busy so I wanted to bring back that togetherness really get people stuck in.

What events can you cater for?
I work full-time so this is still in its growth period but realistically anything
If your holding a birthday party but don’t have time to cater we can do it for you
If you and your friends want to eat restaurant standard food in the comfort of your own home.
We can do it for you
If you want to learn enough to cater for a dinner party and impress your family with your fresh cooked tart we can teach you
