Last minute Halloween costume ideas

With Halloween right around the corner it’s time to think about Halloween costumes! I’m going to two Halloween parties next weekend and have come up with some last minute Halloween costume ideas which I hope will inspire you. 😊

Happy Halloween! 🎃

Wednesday Addams

The Addams Family Halloween costume

My family and I had a lot of fun dressing up as the Addams Family last year. Wednesday is a very easy Halloween costume to put together last minute.

You will need

  • Long sleeved black dress
  • White shirt
  • Black tights
  • Black Shoes
  • Braided Pig Tails

Witch

Most of us have a LBD in our wardrobes right? Pair this with some tights, boots and a witches hat (Poundland or Home Bargains are good places to buy them) and you have your outfit sorted.

You will need

  • Black dress
  • Black or striped tights
  • Black boots
  • Witches hat

Devil 😈

Maybe you have a little red dress instead? Team this with some red horns and you have an easy devil Halloween costume. Depending on the weather you may also want to wear some red tights or stockings.

Not a fan of dresses? Red trousers and a red top would look great as an alternative.

You will need

  • Red dress (or red top and trousers)
  • Red horns
  • Red tights or stockings

Mummy

Mummy Halloween costume
Getting bludgeoned by Lucille (Negan’s baseball bat from The Walking Dead)

For this look I started with a white dress and attached bandages to it before dirtying it up a little. You could also add some fake blood and some white bloodied tights to complete your look.

You will need

  • White dress
  • Bandages (soak them in some tea for an aged look)
  • Fake blood
  • White tights

Ghost 👻

A classic Halloween costume! Happily worn by Willow Rosenburg on Buffy.

Grab an old sheet (or buy a new one), cut a couple of eye holes and viola. You could even get out a Sharpie or permanent marker for the classic Willow “Boo!”.

You will need

  • White sheet
  • Scissors
  • Black Sharpie or permanent market (optional)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (or Faith if you’re a brunette)

I went to a convention called Hallowhedon which celebrated the work of Buffy creator Joss Whedon where they had a themed party every night. There were often Buffy cosplayers and I think it’s a great look for a group Halloween costume.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

For Buffy grab your black leather jacket or a black blazer, team with some red trousers (leather or faux leather if you can) and some black books for her iconic Graduation Day look.

Faith – the roue slayer

For Faith, try a red or white vest top with dark denim or black trousers and a demin or leather jacket. Team with some heeled boots.

Freddy Krueger

A classic horror movie character, Freddy’s costume is easy to put together with a dark green and red striped jumper (a black and red one would also work), black trousers or jeans and accessories.

You will need

  • Dark green and red (or black and red) striped jumper
  • Black trousers or jeans
  • Black boots
  • Hat
  • Freddy’s iconic glove (check your local Poundland)

Jigsaw puppet (Billy)

This one will take a little more planning if you want the iconic red eyes and bow tie. Team a white shirt with a black blazer and black trousers, whiten your face and blacken your eyes. Then draw red target shapes on your cheeks.

You will need

  • White shirt
  • Black Blazer
  • Black trousers
  • Red bow tie
  • Red contact lenses
  • Red shoes
  • White face paint
  • Black face paint
  • Red face paint

These are great last minute costume ideas. I’ve never dressed up as an adult and only once as a kid.. but I think it’s so fun. I just can’t justify sitting in my house in costume.. or else I might be tempted!

I love your Buffy themed ones.. also a white dress, black leather jacket, heels, silver cross necklace and a fake crossbow work for an iconic Season 1 look!

I’ll admit I don’t sit around the house in costume. Only if I’m going to a party or other Halloween themed event but I may pop some fangs in for trick or treaters.

Great idea for Buffy’s season 1 look!

Wednesday Addams is definitely one of my favorite options for a last minute Halloween costume haha Ot’s really easy to do and generally you don’t need to buy anything for it! ;P the Devil and witch are good options as well as people generally have these clothes home already (except maybe the witch hat haha)
    Great post!

These are some great ideas! I haven’t even thought about my Halloween costume yet but as you said the Witch is something so easily put together, I have a black dress and I can easily get to a poundland for a witches hat!
I think I might go as a Witch and I’ll get my boyfriend to go as my little black cat hehe
