Own a Moment * | Review

When it comes to buying gifts for people I go for personal or experience gifts. Something the recipient can treasure or something they can make memories with.

Last month, I was contacted by the team at Own A Moment who asked if I wanted to review one of their products. Of course I said yes, based on my love of personalised gifts and knowing just who to get one for. My sister and her fiance.

Own a Moment certificate

What is Own a Moment?

Own A Moment give you the chance to gift a moment in time. No duplicates of the same time slot are sold, so that moment is forever yours. It’s a great way to celebrate births, anniversaries, weddings, any special day you can think of.

You simply pick the date and time, and receive a certificate with a photograph of the moment – either a printed copy (framed or unframed) or digital.

Each moment sold is added to the official time registry (OTR) and all certificates are complete with an OTR seal.

The OTR is an international registry where all moments are recorded and managed in a large database. You get free access to the registry website with your prucahse, to view your certificate, download and share with others on social media.

Own A Moment – the gift of time

The moment I chose was the day they got engaged at Heroes and Villans comic con. The time is a rough estimate but I think it’s the thought and gesture that really matters.

I chose a photo from the day which looks perfect on the certificate. There is also a text area where you can write a message to the recipient(s).

So if you love capturing memories and personalised gifts I’d highly recommend Own a Moment.

  1. Aww this is such a cute idea for a gift! I’d love to get something like this for my partner and I for when we first got together. It’s lovely that they don’t sell two of the same moment too so it’s sort of like confirmed that you own it. Great christmas present idea!

    • That’s a great idea! I really do love the concept and will definitely be buying more for future gifts. Thanks for your comment Alice. x

  2. This is such a lovely and unique idea for a gift! I love personalised gifts too – I much prefer them to general “stuff” you can buy in any old high street store. These really are one of a kind!

  3. This is such a wonderful idea for a gift, and great timing for the holiday season. And I love that you can produce them for any time, even years ago – by including an appropriate photo. Seems like these could be great gifts for “hard to buy for” people, like grandparents! Thanks so much for sharing this.

    • Thanks for your comment Joan. I haven’t thought about one of these for grandparents – perhaps an anniversary or a day really special to them (like they day they got married or had their first child). x

  4. This is such a cute idea! I really like that they only sell one of each moment, that really makes it special and unique. I love your choice of moment too Kim, what a perfect gift for your sister and fiance. I’ve never heard of this before, so thank you for sharing. I’ll definitely keep this in mind for Christmas present ideas! <3 xx

    • Thanks for your comment Lisa. They really can be used for any special occasion – I’m hoping to buy another one for my sister’s “I Do”.
