10 years driving: My car essentials

Today marks 10 years since I passed my practical driving test(!), I can’t believe it’s been that long really.Β  A decade of driving. I thought I’d celebrate this milestone by talking about my car history and some car essentials. My car history My first car was a red Renault 5 named Noddy after the children’s carton character, and also because the number plate could spell out the word “NOD”. Noddy was my mum’s old car and unfortunately the engine blew before I had a chance to learn to drive in it. I did have a go at changing the gears Read More…

Autumn tag

This year the Autumn equinox happens in the early hours of the morning on Sunday 23rd September and marks the first day of autumn. It’s the time of year when day and night are almost equal in length. So it must mean I can decorate the house for Halloween on Sunday right? πŸ˜‰πŸŽƒ … Right?Β In celebration of the equinox I’d like to answer the Autumn tag which I found on the blog, That Weird Girl Life. The Autumn Tag The rules are simple: answer the questions, tag others to continue the tag, provide the questions for them, and thank the Read More…

Things to do in The Rhondda Valleys | Guest post

How many of us opt to go aboard rather than explore our own country? Personally I love a staycation, they’re perfect for a weekend away (especially around a bank holiday!) and usually a lot easier, and cheaper to travel to. Over the next few weeks I’m teaming up with bloggers to talk about their local area and hopefully give you a few new staycation or day trip ideas. πŸ˜ŠπŸš˜πŸ›£πŸšŒπŸš‚πŸ›€ First up is Katie, a mum to a daughter and son from the South Wales Valleys. Katie mainly blogs about general life as well as local attractions! You can catch up Read More…

Why it’s OK to treat yourself | Shopping Haul

How many times have you been hovering over the ‘Checkout’ button on an online store or picking up, then putting back items when you’re out and about shopping? When’s the last time you bought yourself a treat? Honestly until last weekend I couldn’t tell you the last time I went shopping and treated myself to something, whether that be a new Lush product, an item of clothing I’ve had my eye on or a new Blu Ray. I’m terrible at giving myself a treat. I find it difficult to justify spending money on myself which could be put towards other Read More…

Dance your way to a better body | Guest Post

If you’re anything like me you find it very difficult to get motivated during the Autumn and Winter months to exercise. In the Summer it’s easier – I can go for a walk or a run without worrying too much about rain or cold, but this time of year I’d rather be under a blanket with a good book or watching my favourite Netflix shows.Β I spoke last year about some exercises that could be done without going to the gym, but one thing I didn’t think of was dancing! For this post I’m partnering up with Wendy Dessler who is Read More…

Favourite childhood books

Today is Roald Dahl day where we celebrate the life and work of this talented author. In tribute I thought I’d share my favourite childhood books with you. Of course there are a couple of Roald Dahl stories in here. Roald Dahl day 2018 focuses on James and the Giant Peach which was his first children’s book. It’s a wonderful story and one of my favourite book to screen adaptations. My favourite character is Miss Spider. My favourite childhood books Matilda This was the first book I remember reading as a child and is the one that inspired my love Read More…
