London Film and Comic Con 2017 – Day 1 – The weekend I met my idol

I’ve just had the most amazing weekend at London Film and Comic Con with my family and my sister’s friend. Honestly I think it was their best one yet but that could be because I checked something off my bucket list! After 19 years or so I finally got to meet one of my idols, Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Alyson Hannigan (Willow). Alyson was announced back in May along with her husband Alexis Denisof who plays Wesley in Buffy and Angel. I checked out the website as soon as they were announced and snapped up a diamond pass for Alyson Read More…

20 years of Buffy the Vampire Slayer

On March 10th 1997 the first season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer aired in the USA, that’s right – Buffy is 20 years old today! That makes me feel old… I’ve been watching Buffy since it first aired in the UK and have rewatched it countless times on VHS and DVD.  I’ve had some great experiences because of Buffy, conventions, themed parties, acting out scenes from Buffy and putting on shows of Once More With Feeling (the musical episode) as a kid etc. I’ve also made many great friends through our mutual love of Buffy that it wouldn’t seem right Read More…

London Film and Comic Con 2016

Last Friday Ryan, my parents and I left home at 5am and travelled to London for London Film and Comic Con! Which is one of the biggest conventions in the UK and one of my favourite events as they have a wide range of celebrity guests attending and unique dealers. We got to the venue at around 7am and there was already a queue forming; rumour has it some people had been there since 5am! Once inside the convention we headed to the guest signing area on the first floor to collect our virtual queue (VQ) tickets. It is never Read More…

Prophecy – Buffy the Vampire Slayer convention

Prophecy was this past weekend – a three day convention for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, and my first convention by this organiser (Rouge Events) so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The main draw for me was meeting Alyson Hannigan but unfortunately she cancelled 3 weeks before the event. 🙁 I was gutted! As were many others who had purchased tickets to the convention. The company actually had three cancellations in the week’s leading up to the event. Not good, but, to their credit managed to replace all the guests before the convention meaning we had 8 in Read More…

Tattoo planning

May 6th 2016 will be 10 years since my first (and only!) tattoo. For those that don’t know it’s on my lower back and is the same as the one Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer has on her arm, I wrote a post about my tattoo experience / 18th birthday at the time. I’ve had various ideas for tattoos since but nothing I love enough to go ahead with, yet. Here are some of my ideas… Stargate symbol for Earth Possible placement: Right wrist Serenity (ship from Firefly) / Possible placement: Left foot, upper back or left hip Tribal Read More…

Hallowhedon Convention

I know it’s been a while since my last update! But I am happy to say that the speech therapy has really helped and I’m talking normally again however, I have damaged my high vocal chords. I can’t scream. Which may have come in handy for Hallowhedon last weekend. 😉 Seriously though, I’m just happy to have my voice back. On to the title of this post… Hallowhedon Anyone who knows me knows that I am a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as other Joss Whedon shows – Angel and Firefly, and this past Halloween weekend Read More…
