Valentine’s Day 2017

Happy Valentine’s day or ‘Galentines’ day or Happy Tuesday. Whether your celebrating today or not or if your single or in a relationship, I hope everyone has a good day. Ryan and I don’t celebrate much, we’re having a quiet night in watching a film (likely Deep Water Horizon), Ryan’s cooking lasagne as we’ve not had it in ages and I’m providing dessert. Valentine’s Day 2016

If you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ll know I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, I’ll give presents and maybe do some heart shaped themed baking (I love baking) but haven’t celebrated much more than that. Ryan was at work today, cooking for many couples that had booked a table at the restaurant, I knew he’d be tired and hungry when he got home and decided to treat him. Valentine’s Day gift ideas

I prefer handmade gifts for Valentine’s Day or handmade gifts mixed with some store bought items, such as hampers or gift baskets. The hamper above was made for Valentine’s Day 2012 and it mostly consisted of novelty items, some chocolates and small items of clothing (socks, boxer shorts etc). As well as a “date night jar” (inspired by: Life in the greenhouse.com) and some love coupons. Valentines Day 2014

I don’t celebrate Valentines Day as a rule – I think it’s just a silly commercial holiday slapped in between Christmas and Easter. Having said that, I do seem to end up doing something – whether I’m a relationship or a singleton. This Valentines Day, I worked 08:30 – 16:00 and came home to this in the living room:- Basically a dozen red roses displayed over the house in small vases.
