The Ultimate Christmas Tag

Merry Christmas to all my readers. πŸŽ„πŸŽπŸŽ‰ I hope you have a good day tomorrow, however you choose to spend it. I know Christmas can be a rough time of year for a lot of people, so try and take some time for yourself over the holidays. Have a break from the festivities if you need to.

As tomorrow is Christmas Day I thought I’d celebrate by tackling the Ultimate Christmas Tag, that Femenish tagged me in earlier this month. You can read her answers here. 😊

Rules (are made to be broken):

  • Link back to the original post (by femenish) when you have written yours and link back to the person who tagged you!
  • Tag as many bloggers as you like.
  • Answer the questions! If you want to you can make up your own questions to ask the bloggers you have tagged, or you can use these ones!
  • If you haven’t been tagged, you can participate in this anyway!

The Ultimate Christmas Tag

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

The food, I think. It’s the only time of year I get to eat turkey and we don’t have a lot of Sunday roast dinners either. So Christmas dinner is probably my favourite part.

Do you have any Christmas traditions you CANNOT forget about each year?

I spoke about our Christmas traditions earlier this month but the main one today will be opening our stockings. Which we will be doing tomorrow morning! 😊

Is there a song that just gets you into that Christmas spirit?

Slade – Merry Christmas Everybody.

It was always one of the early signs of Christmas for my family and I when I was growing up.

What is your favourite Christmas movie?

I spoke about my favourite Christmas movies earlier this year. But my all time favourite is The Muppets Christmas Carol.

Which food is your must-have at Christmas time?

Turkey! 😍

If you had to choose between Michael Buble’s Christmas album and Justin Bieber’s Christmas album, which one would you choose and why?

Neither to be honest.

What is your favourite memory about Christmas?

My sister putting the clocks forward half an hour so we could wake my parents up earlier. πŸ˜… They insist on 6am, but that year they were actually woken up at 5.30! Oops.

When do you start decorating your place for Christmas?

12 days before, usually on a Saturday.

If you were at Christmas Karaoke, which 5 songs would you choose to play?
  1. The Pogues – Fairy tale of New York, as a duet
  2. Walking in a Winter Wonderland
  3. The Waitresses – Christmas Wrapping
  4. Boyzone – The Hour Before Christmas
  5. You’re a Mean One, Mr Grinch
What are your top 4 Christmas movies?
  1. The Muppets Christmas Carol
  2. Gremlins
  3. Elf
  4. The Grinch
What does Christmas really mean to you?

Family, friends, compassion. It’s the season of giving, whether that’s gifts or by giving time.

How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa?

I’ll let you know when that happens. πŸ˜‰

What do you think makes Christmas so magical?

I think a lot of us have lost the magic of Christmas. It’s become very commercialised in recent years and seems to get more and more so every year, unfortunately.

I think The Grinch says it well with this quote…

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. Maybe Christmas, he thought…doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps…means a little bit more!

To me the magic of Christmas is how one day a year we forget about all the hardships in the world. Everyone comes together to celebrate.

Oh I love this tag hun! I really enjoy reading about what Christmas means to others and their traditions etc… I hope you had an amazing day with your loved ones. I LOVE gremlins, I always remember sneaking to watch it when I was about 4ish &m my mum wasn’t too sure about me watching it but I loved gizmo, he was so blooming cute but the other gremlins haunted me! I even thought I saw one on a plane one time because I was that traumatised ahah. That Grinch quote is such a good one, he definitely hit the nail on the head with that one.

Thanks for your comment Jordanne and sorry for the delay replying. It had ended up in spam. πŸ™ Christmas seems so long ago now, doesn’t it? We had a lovely Christmas, thank you. x

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Kim! I agree the magic is kinda gone now. For me there’s too much hype before the day, I’m always a little bored of it by the time it comes. The food coma is always fabulous though! x

Thanks so much for doing this tag! I really enjoyed reading your answers. I can’t believe I never thought of changing the clocks. All those years of waiting until 7am and I could have woken them up half an hour earlier! I love your photo – it’s really beautiful! Merry Christmas!
