Shiney and New!

Hello! You may have noticed a lot of down time on my website lately, long story short, I was over the bandwidth available for the package I was on! It’s now been upgraded and I’m back. ๐Ÿ™‚ There’s a bunch of updates I want to do and some things I want to finish with my website, more on that later. My “online” life lately has been spent social networking: Facebook, Twitter, fourms and as I’ve gotten back into baking lately, I’ve been browsing/using the Cut Out + Keep craft site a lot, which has been around since 2007. Here’s a […]

Categories Vs Tags in WordPress

While updating my posts after my website was hacked, I thought a lot about categories vs tags and how best to use them. As I was essentially starting from scratch I had time (and the motivation) to research how best to use them both for my readers to navigate my website better and for SEO. What are categories? Categories are used like a contents page for your website and designed as a broad grouping of posts. For example all posts related to my ‘lifestyle’ are under ‘Lifestyle‘ – Genius eh? How to fix a blank page in wp-admin | WordPress Tips

For the past couple of days I’ve been experiencing blank/white pages in my wp-admin panel when submitting content: posts, pages, changes to plugins, you name it. Here’s what I’ve been up to when I haven’t been writing or working on my website: Catching up on my Sky+ shows Bones, Casualty, Teen Wolf, Holby City etc – I haven’t caught up with season 2 of Teen Wolf yet, it’s been in my Sky+ planner for about a year now! The others I’ve been a fan of for years and with Casualty and Holby City for as long as I can remember. Working Full-time, 8.30 – 5.00 with a bunch of overtime thrown in as […]

The Reading Tag

I saw this reading tag on Karen’s blog, ‘Imaginary Karen’, and couldn’t resist answering the questions myself. I love reading so this tag really appealed to me. It’s also my first tag! The Reading Tag Physical book or e-book? Physical book, definitely. I’ve tried using e-readers before and find myself getting eye strain or headaches a lot more. But also, I like owning physical books and showing my collection on my bookshelves (yes, plural ๐Ÿ˜‰ ), as well as the old book smell. I think Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer explains it nicely… โ€œSmell is the most powerful trigger […]

Blogging and Lifestyle Goals For 2013

I had intended on writing this entry a lot sooner – it was drafted in January (2013) but I didn’t get around to finishing it. The purpose of this entry is to tell you my goals and plans for myself both offline and online – this is more of a reminder for me. Website Goals: Finish transferring my old Fan update posts to WordPress or at least go through my old Fan Update posts and add those that had an impact on my life or those that I particularly enjoyed writing about to WordPress. Add the following pages back: Articles, […]
