Happy Easter (or happy Sunday to those that don’t celebrate it). 🙂 Today, Artur and I had a lovely Sunday lunch at my parents house, my job was to bring dessert. I made cupcakes, sugar cookies and these chocolate cornflake nests, very easy to make but always a favourite in my family. To make these you will need: 100g chocolate (plain or milk) 50g butter 75g cornflakes Method Break up the chocolate and cut the butter into small pieces Put in a large bowl over a pan of boiling water, stir until melted. You could also pop it in the […]
I wanted to make a Christmas pudding this Christmas but no one I know likes the taste! I found a similar Christmas pudding cake on the Lakeland website, this is my take on it. I used their medium hemisphere pans (so mine is a lot smaller than the one they made). For the cake, you will need: 340g margarine 340g caster sugar 6 eggs 340g self-raising flour 1 tsp vanilla essence 30g cocoa powder For the Filling 50g butter 250g icing sugar 1-2 tsp water 1 tsp jam Brown food colouring To Decorate White rolling icing Green food colouring Red […]
My first (and probably last) giant cupcake – a Minnie Mouse giant cupcake I made for my sister’s birthday this year. It took two attempts at baking, the first cake did not rise correctly and got stuck in the silicone mould, the second didn’t rise into the “tip” of the mould. I always seem to have issues baking with silicone moulds. INGREDIENTS 2½ cups of self raising flour 1½ cups caster sugar 250g unsalted butter (softened) 6 eggs 2 tsp Vanilla flavouring Approx 200g jam for the filling and to stick on the white chocolate fingers For decorating Pink frosting […]
A quick and easy receipe for Nutella cookies, I’ve made these a couple of times for Artur. He loves Nutella® and really enjoyed these. You will need 70g plain flour 1 large egg 275g Nutella® Method Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Combine flour, egg and Nutella® in a large bowl and mix well. Roll the cookie dough into balls, place on the prepared tray and press down on the balls to create thick discs. Bake for approximately 10 minutes, they should be slightly soft in the middle. Leave to cool on a wire rack until set.
Using my ‘no yeast pizza recipe’, Artur and I baked this heart shaped pizza for Valentine’s Day dinner this year. The challenging parts was shaping the dough into a heart shape… Pretty good for a first try. 🙂 You will need 90 ml Warm Water 1 tsp Salt Toppings Of Your Choice Pizza Sauce (store bought or make your own) Grated cheese 45 ml Olive Oil 225 g Self-Raising Flour Method Preheat the oven to 220ºC To make the crust: Combine the salt, flour, oil, and water, mix well. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the dough. Shape […]
