Halloween Accessories for Your Work Wardrobe

AD | It’s no secret that Halloween is my favourite holiday, and honestly, if I could get away with wearing my Ghostbusters leggings all month, I probably would! However working in an office environment five days a week, I know how difficult it can be to embrace your love of all things spooky.

Often I’ll opt for something a little more “mainstream”, with my spooky items solely reserved for evenings or days off. So instead I look for subtle Halloween accessories I can use with my work wear.

Accessories can be a great way to spice up an otherwise plain outfit and still keep within your companies dress code… But if you work from home, by all means, reach for your own Ghostbusters leggings (or other spooky items). Haha. πŸ˜‰

Halloween Accessories for Your Work Wardrobe

Halloween Socks*

Unless you mistakenly flash your ankles while walking from your desk to the printer, the horror(!); it’s very unlikely anyone will notice if your socks are covered in pumpkins or striped in candy cane colours.

Which make Halloween socks the ideal subtle way to add something spooky to your office wear… Full disclaimer my socks currently have bats on them. πŸ¦‡

Pins / Brooches

I know a bunch of you are pin addicts, so what better way to combine your love of pins and Halloween, than by adding them to your clothing? Whether you choose a pin or a brooch, they’re both great additions to cardigans or jumpers, can be used to decorate hats or scarves, or even for brightening up your work space or cubicle.

They don’t have to be creepy to fit in with a Halloween theme either! This IT Clown pin by Guts and Glitter, that I found on Sarah’s Instagram, is very cute, and (unless your colleagues have a clown phobia?!) non offensive too.

Jewellery

I received some lovely Halloween style studs for my Secret Ghoul present last year. They’re subtle enough to wear for work, but I can also hide them behind my hair if I need to.

If you’re looking for something spooky and stylish, Kerry of Selkie Crafts** has a beautiful range of jewellery that is perfect for this time of year. For something traditionally Halloween-y, her spider necklace or earrings would be a great addition to your collection. Or, for something more subtle, her Tree and Moon necklace is a beautiful celestial design which fills me with full moon vibes.

Hair Accessories

At Christmas time you see people wearing tinsel scrunchies, seasonal hairclips and Santa hats to work, so why not adopt similar ideas for Halloween? Like a simple bat hairclip, bow or a colourful headband.

Etsy is my favourite place to look for hair accessories but you could also try making your own. The Purple Pumpkin Blog has a great selection of Halloween Crafts or, there’s always Pinterest of course. Check out my Halloween or accessories boards on Pinterest for some ideas.

Scarves

Probably one of my favourite Autumn / Winter accessories is a cosy scarf, from Autumn leaves to pumpkins and black cats, there’s plenty of spooky themed designs to choose from.

Last year I found one with a gold pumpkin design from a local indie store (similar), the pattern is tasteful enough for the office while still being perfect for the Halloween season. I’m planning to wear mine to work on the 31st October.

When in doubt, there’s always stationery!

If you’re unsure whether your office would be happy with your choice of Halloween accessories, then stationery can be a great alternative to bringing Halloween to work. And, let’s face it, who doesn’t love cute stationery?

LittlePencilDesigns** has a cute range of Halloween and Autumnal stationery including planner stickers, cards and paperclips, which I’ve been using to decorate my work planner and notepads. My favourite designs (at the moment) are her fall date ideas and fall bucket list** stickers.

Fall bucket list stickers

I’m hoping to tick all of these items off this year. πŸ’—

I love the idea of brooches! I hadn’t considered that at all… I’m still not totally sure what I’m going to wear for work and I’m getting down to the wire haha! Thanks for sharing!

The Pennywise broach is so so interesting, love the idea behind it! Halloween Stationary is so much fun to shop for, could stay in that section in a store for ages – the socks are also my favorite, perfect to wear all October!

Great post! When I was still working outside the home, I was all about the spooky jewelry. There were so many great options and you could get them so that they looked dressy and professional while also rocking the Halloween vibes. I also have a great skull scarf!

I love getting into the festive spirit of things at work! I have a pumpkin scarf I love so much, a bring orange t-dress with a black pumpkin face on it and a black and white ghost dress which I like to crank out, plus pumpkin earrings and some glow in the dark skeletons. I love these socks – but I think I would give the spider jewelry a miss!

I’m a sucker for jewellery & my scarf collection is also growing out of control, but Halloween is too good of an excuse not to get some new accessories. I love the gothicy designs so this is like prime shopping time for me with all the awesome designs πŸ˜„ You should take a pic of your work outfit complete with Halloween themed scarf!

I have to admit I’m not a fan of Hallowe’en but that’s because it’s always me that has to trudge around our village with Flora and her friends in the rain, wind, cold, and dark while they go knocking on doors for sweets. That said, you’ve got some great accessories ideas here – those socks are too cute and I would LOVE to see your bat ones! Lisa X
