Mint Choc Chip Cake Recipe

I’ve been playing a mobile game called Baking Story recently, and the most recent level introduced some mint choc chip cupcakes! My favourite ice cream flavour… In cupcake form!? I knew I had to give them a try in real life for myself. Which you can see a snippet off in the left-hand corner, but as I had some cake mix leftover, I decided to make a mint choc chip cake as well. And I love how it turned out. I used my heart-shaped cake pan from Lakeland and layered the cake with the mint flavoured frosting. It was delicious! […]

Geeky Birthday Weekend at Chevron 7.6 – UK Stargate Convention

Hey there! Things have been busy since my last post. I celebrated my birthday weekend at the Chevron 7.6 UK Stargate convention and we finally got a new computer after our last one suffered a fatal computer failure. I also purchased a new laptop so we have a back-up if any goes wrong in the future. Fingers crossed it doesn’t!🤞🤞 But I’m happy to have a back-up, just in case. It feels so good to be online and able to blog again; I’ve missed it.  I’ve been to a couple of comic conventions including the Spring Memorabilia show in March, […]

What Being without a Computer Has Taught Me

Over the past few weeks, our family computer has been randomly turning itself off and each time it turns off it’s been taking longer and longer to reboot. Last week it failed to turn back on at all and so we’ve been without one since then. I’m actually borrowing a friend’s computer to write this post! So, what happened? To be honest, we don’t know for certain but have opened up the case and taken a look at the motherboard, it’s likely been a fault with the capacitors. The caps were bulging and there appeared to be some leakage of […]

Blogging Goals For 2011

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and Santa brought you some lovely presents. I spent this Christmas and New Year relaxing at home with my family. We even had an extended Christmas break from work which was lovely, and something I’ve not been able to do since college. But things have certainly been very busy since going back to work, in fact, this month has simply flown by. I very nearly missed posting my blogging goals for this year (2011)! But before I tell you all about my 2011 blogging goals with you, I wanted to […]

Winter Memorabilia Show Birmingham, November 2010

Yesterday was the Winter Memorabilia Show at the Birmingham NEC. A comic convention covering multiple fandoms, with celebrity guests, talks, photo ops, a large dealers room and so much more. It’s held twice a year (in March and November) and this marks my third time attending a Memorabilia event. The Winter Memorabilia Show is always one of the highlights of the convention calendar for me and a great way to finish our year. Like usual we arrived at the show at around 8:15 in the morning and headed straight to the ‘pre-paid’ queue. I think it’s always worth getting to […]

Girls Can Like Star Wars too

Recently I read an article about a little girl named Katie who is being bullied by her classmates for carrying a Star Wars water bottle, which is something I’m very familiar with. That may come as a surprise given the Yoda hat I’m wearing in my cover photo, but I hid my love of Star Wars for most of my child life; sure I had Star Wars toys (in fact, I still have them), but my friends didn’t know. All through Primary school to Secondary school, up until college. Only my family knew that I loved Star Wars. But why? Girls […]
