About Me
Hello and welcome to Chimmyville, my little home on the web. š I’m Kim (Chimmykins), a 30-something late diagnosed autistic, lifestyle and travel blogger from The Cotswolds.
Chimmyville: Ma petite ville sur le web – A combination of my nickname and the French word ‘Ville’ meaning town or place.
Chimmyville began on 11th August 2005, as a place to store my pixel creations collection, and creative writing. But as my interests changed and grew overtime, so did Chimmyville, and on the 2nd April 2019 I started blogging about lifestyle and travel – which is the blog you see today.
Here I write about my life in The Cotswolds, travels and travel aspirations (my bucketlist), convention experiences (mainly sci-fi or film conventions), and mental wellbeing. But you may also find some blogging and the great outdoors content around here, too.
I live with my parents in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, with our fish (Biggie, Nemo, Sharkie, Darth, and Kylo), our weather loach (Loachy), and our lavender corn snake (Ekans). We’ve also had a tarantula named Hermy and some Great African land snails over the years. But I’d love to add a Mexican red knee tarantula, and bearded dragon to the family, too!

In my spare time I love being outdoors – whether that’s exploring new places in my home town and the surrounding villages, going on staycations in the UK, travelling somewhere further afield, or getting out on the water. I strive to get (at least) one hour outside everyday, which as we know has so many mental health benefits.
When I’m not enjoying the outdoors, I’m also an avid reader and have a wide range of books on my bookshelves – my favourite genres include horror, fantasy and sci-fi. My favourite author is Stephen King and I love The Lord of the Rings!
I also enjoy watching films – I love horror movies! – and TV shows, and playing computer games – I guess you can say I’m a geek… If that wasn’t obvious already! š Halloween is my favourite holiday and Autumn is my favourite season. ššš

Facts About Me
- I have dyscalculia.
- I’m allergic to nickel and nickel-plated metals.
- I collect Buffy and Angel memorabilia and pressed pennies.
- I was hit in my left eye by a golf club bursting two blood vessels as a child. As a result, I’m short-sighted and wear glasses.
- My favourite colour is purple and my favourite fragrance is lavender.
- My favourite flowers are roses and sunflowers andy favourite gemstone is Rose Quartz.
- I love animals and donate every month to the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. My favourite animals are penguins and I’ve adopted a penguin colony.
