The British Tag
I found The British Tag over on Laura’s blog Merkitty and thought I’d share my answers with you. I love tag style posts – I think they can be a great way to get to know the blogger better.

QUESTIONS:
1. How many cups of tea do you have a day?
I can’t remember the last time I had a cup of tea at home but I will have one with my breakfast if we’re eating out. I prefer fruity teas with a spoonful of honey in them instead of sugar or sweetener.
2. Favourite part of your roast?
Yorkshire puddings or gravy or roast potatoes. I love crunch roast potatoes.
3. Favourite dunking biscuit?
I usually dunk Bourbon biscuits as some brands have ones with no milk or dairy products in them. ๐
4. Favourite quintessentially British pastime?
Having a spot of tea or a crumpet.
5. Favourite British word?
I use spiffing and gutted quite a lot, so I’ll say those.
6. Cockney rhyming slang?
I’m going to go down the apples and pears to use the dog and bone. ๐
7. Favourite sweet?
Haribo, but they’re a German brand lol. Umm… British… Fizzers, Love Hearts or those double lolly pops that taste like Fizzers.
8. If you owned a pub, what would your pub be called?
Off the top of my head – the Prancing Pony, like the one in the Lord of the Rings
9. Favourite male and female British celebrity?
Sir David Attenborough and Hayley Attwell
10. Favourite British shop / restaurant?
Is Waterstones British? If so, Waterstones.
11. What British song pops into your head?
Bohemian Rhapsody โ Queen.
12. Marmite?
I love Marmite! On toast, in sandwiches, mixed in with pasta (recipe here) or cheese twists (dairy free, of course). It’s delicious

Thanks for doing this!
I love your answers (but just to let you know.. on number 5 my answer is still below yours!)
I’ve never really heard anyone say spiffing before, so that’s a pretty interesting one!

What a fun tag! You had so many great answers. Bourbon biscuits are my absolute favourites, and I’m pretty sure my blood has now been replaced by tea, so I guess that makes me quite British? David Attenborough is a legend, too!

He really is! A nature programme not narrated by him is just wrong. Haha, tea blood, definitely sounds British to me. ๐

I love this. I recently did my first tag (on Harry Potter), & could easily become addicted to them. In fact, I think I might have to do this one too…

Marmite is the perfect breakfast food (in toast) or sandwich filler. I’m happy to hear you love it too! It’s an acquired taste.

As a Brit who now lives in Canada this really made my day. The things I miss the most from home are all food related. I miss crumpets. The ones here are terrible and flat. Having a nature show not narrated by David Attenborough is a crime, and donโt even get me started on Yorkshire puddings (the best part of any roast but I constantly have to explain them).

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I love crumpets too, I missed them when I went on holiday to the US this year but I did get Lucky Charms. Haha, I guess you don’t get yorkies in Canada?

This was cool to read! I’m not British and I didn’t quite understand a few things you wrote or what the question was asking LOL but I could answer the first one for myself – at least one or two cups a day! ๐
