The Buffy Tag

Today marks the anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer which first aired in the USA back in 1997. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know Buffy is one of my favourite fandoms. I wrote about my love for Buffy on its 20th anniversary in 2017, have a tattoo from the show and been lucky enough to meet some of the cast members. So it would be wrong of me not to celebrate in someday, right?

So in celebration of Buffy’s birthday I thought I’d revisit an old Facebook tag (which has been doing the rounds on YouTube lately), that I was able to track down on Jessica’s blog ‘I Talk to Gh0sts’, you can read her answers here. 😊

The Buffy Tag

1. Favourite Episode
This is a tough one because I have so many favourite episodes of Buffy. From the musical ‘Once more with feeling’ to the eerie ‘Hush’ and ‘Band Candy’ to ‘The Gift’ but if I had to narrow it down to one, I’d say Hush.

Most of Hush was filmed without the actors speaking, but is still full of Joss Whedon’s wit and remains one of the creepiest Buffy episodes.

2. Favourite Season.
It has to be Season 3, if only for Faith and The Mayor.

3. Least Favourite Episode.
Most of season 4 to be honest although it also has two of my favourite episodes, ‘Fear Itself’ and ‘Hush’.

One episode I always remember skipping though was ‘Go Fish’; I found it dull. Although it does have one highlight – Xander in Speedo’s. 😅

4. Buffyverse OTP.
I love Willow and Oz as much as I love Willow and Tara.

5. Favourite Major/Minor Character.
Major has to be Willow. Minor would be Faith, Tara or Oz.

6. Favourite Quote.
Buffy’s speech to Jonathan in ‘Earshot’.

7. Favourite Villain.
Angelus.

8. Biggest WTF moment.
The cheese guy in the Season four finale episode ‘Restless’.

9. Death that made you cry the most.

It’s a toss up between Joyce, Tara or Buffy but mostly due to the reactions from other characters. Like Anya’s speech in ‘The Body’, how Spike breaks down at the end of ‘The Gift’ and Willow’s decent into darkness at the end of season 6.

10. Last Episode you saw/read.

The last episode I saw was ‘Once More With Feeling’ over Christmas. It’s a firm favourite in our family and always the episode I use to introduce people to the show.

As for reading I’ve just started season 9 of the comic books.

I tag Holly as I know she’s a fan of Buffy and anyone else who’d like to answer this one.

Love this! I completely agree about season 4, I think the show struggled to find it’s footing after the characters graduated, and the cheese guy still baffles me. Heh. Your answers are great, I was nodding along for most of them. Willow has the best relationships.

Buffy will always be my favourite show EVER. A little known fact is that I helped to set up http://www.buffy-boards.com and it’s still going strong today but I haven’t posted on there in forever. Hush was just brilliant, as was The Body – Anya’s speech just about broke me at the time! 🙂

I used to love Buffy so much. My favourites were Cordelia, Drusilla and Spike. Spike was an absolute LEGEND, the master of witty sarcasm. That episode when Buffy was invisible and kept goosing him was hilarious! Love this post, Kim, it’s brought back some happy memories, thank you!
