No bake Double Decker cheesecake

My dad’s birthday was Wednesday, so we went for food at a local pub, called The Golden Farm, to celebrate. It’s re-opened under new management and this was our first time trying the new menu. Wednesday is their grill night! Steaks, chicken, cumberland sausage, scampi and a vegetarian dish were offered, as well as a few specials. I chose the garlic chicken dish and Dad enjoyed a gammon steak with egg, the meals were cooked by my sister’s partner who works there. All the dishes were served with garlic bread, chips and a side salad, mum and Ryan had Cumberland Read More…

Dinner date to Piazza Fontana

Ryan and I haven’t gone out to eat, just the two of us in a while – in fact it may have even been around this time last year! Now don’t get me wrong, we have a lot of lovely date nights in and have gone to the cinema and the theatre for a comedy show recently, but we haven’t been out to eat. We both prefer home cooking (or a cheeky take away! 😉 ), also Ryan’s a professional Chef and can be very picky about where he goes to eat!   So last Friday the 10th we went Read More…

Best for Breakfast – Cheltenham & Swindon

I know I’ve touched on this before with my favourite places to eat in Cirencester post, but wanted to talk about my favourite places to eat a bit further afield. Namely in Cheltenham and Swindon which I go to often for shopping and cinema trips. Best for breakfast around Cirencester Cheltenham There are two places we usually go for breakfast in Cheltenham; Fresh Crust pasty shop and Bill’s. We’ve been going to Fresh Crust pasty shop for years now, back when it was in Cheltenham’s Beechwood shopping centre and now with its shop in Regent Street. I highly recommend it. Read More…

Antipasti & Tapas date night

Inspired by the tapas selection we had at Toro Lounge in December, Ryan and I decided to have a antipasti and tapas date night. We went to our local Lidl and bought various meats, rolls and baguettes, some hummus, an olive selection box, and the great oil server you can see in the photo. I love the middle section of both Lidl and Aldi where they display home and ware and seasonal goods. You never know what you’ll find.  The oil server came with extra virgin olive oil, chilli infused oil and balsamic vinegar. The slate platter is also from Read More…

Healthy snacking with Weight Watchers chocolate selection box

I’ve been following the Weight Watchers plan since January 2012 and got to gold (my goal weight) the following September. I managed to maintain my goal weight until March 2015 where I put nearly all the weight I’d lost back on! 🙁 I’m on back on track and volunteer at meetings, helping the coach set up the room, handling cash and card sales etc. As such, I get to see new products when they’re put out for sale and one of the newest products is the chocolate selection box.  Each selection box includes 4 of the Weight Watchers treat bars Read More…

Cajun spiced chicken served with a chorizo and mixed bean cassoulet

This recipe is similar to the Philidelphia stuffed chicken wrapped in parma ham and chicken wrapped in bacon and served with mashed potato, spinach and pesto ones I’ve posted before, what can I say, I love chicken and haven’t had bacon for a while (we often have one or two chicken based meals a week). You will need 1 skinless chicken breast (per person) 25g of Chorizo, chopped 400g tin of Mixed beans Cajun spices Ground garlic Olive oil Method Marinade Rub the cajun spice mix onto the chicken breasts with a little oil.
