Favourite dairy free alternatives

I’ve always had issues digesting dairy products even when I was an infant. It has always been one of the main food groups to cause my IBS flair ups, but it wasn’t until adult life that I had a formal diagnosis; a dairy allergy. Once I had that diagnosis I cut dairy products from my diet and instantly felt a lot better. No more bloating to the point of looking pregnant, no more painful cramps or other less pleasant symptons! But I was missing two of my favourite snacks, Nestle Rolo chocolates and Tesco cheese snacks. I soon found there Read More…

Vegan & Beauty treats Ft Glow Steady

Back in September I entered Glow Steady’s first year favourites giveaway, and I won! ๐Ÿ˜Š This is the first giveaway I’ve won so I was pretty excited when Sophie contacted me for my address. My prize arrived at the end of November full of vegan and beauty treats that I wanted to share with you. I love how Sophie packed the individual items in white starry paper. It was like Christmas came early. ๐Ÿ˜Š Here’s what I received in my giveaway bundle. Mini Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm I’ve used this at the end of the day to Read More…

Flapjack & Brownie treats ft Emerald City Cupcakes*

Emerald City Cupcakes are a bespoke cake company run by the “2 Broke Girls”, at least that’s what we knew them as when we first met them. They were dressed up as the characters from the show and selling cupcakes after all. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Their real names are Sue and Char. We met these two lovely ladies at MCM Birmingham comic con and love their flapjacks, cupcakes and brownies. Love is probably an understatement as dad usually eats them out of flapjack at conventions! So much so that they now bring along extra when they know we’ll be coming… We’re also Read More…

Breakfast at The Gateway, South Cerney

On one of our recent shopping trips together, my dad and I stopped in The Gateway at South Cerney for breakfast. Neither of us had been there before but decided to try it out and hoped it would become another of our regular breakfast stops. Spoiler – it has. ๐Ÿ˜€ The Gateway is situated by one of the many lakes at South Cerney watermark, which I previously mentioned when Ryan and I went paddle boarding earlier this year. It’s a short walk from their in fact and the Costwold Outdoor is opposite, there’s an abundance of free parking and is Read More…

Lunch at LBs Cafe (formally the Swan Yard cafe)

When I posted my Cirencester town guide I spoke about Swan Yard and Blackjack Street which are a couple of little side streets in the town, the former was home to the Swan Yard Cafe which was one of my favourite cafes. It closed a few years ago, changed hands, got a new menu, new layout and a new name, and, I didn’t go back after that. I had nothing against the place, the layout and decor looked great and I hadn’t even tried the new menu which sounded great too, but I didn’t go back. I don’t like change Read More…

Bar snacks at The Waggon and Horses, Cirencester

A couple of week’s ago Ryan and I met up with my family in one of our local pubs, The Waggon and Horses for a few drinks after work. I was starving, so decided to try one of their bar snacks; chicken in a basket. When I ordered the dish I expected chicken nuggets or some other breaded chicken but was presently surprised to receive chips and two chicken breasts with the skin on, yummy. There were two options for the dish, spicy or non-spicy. I went for spicy and quickly found out the spicy part was the chips. They Read More…
