DVD Organisation

I’m a DVD/Blu Ray collector. I like to own physical media over electronic copies of anything, including books and music. However, my growing collection has taken over the living room. Here’s one of our bookcases – the tidiest one! Problem is, even though our bookcases are generally tidy. I can never find the DVD or Blu Ray I want to watch. There’s no organisation. When we moved into this house, we simply piled them on, along with our books. Resulting in some shelves like this: I had thought about putting them into DVD binders or into filing boxes, after reading Read More…

Collectormania Milton Keynes 21

This past weekend (17th-18th May) was the 21st Collectormania at Milton Keynes and the 6th that I’ve been to. I went along on the Saturday with my family. The main draw for me was to meet Billy Boyd (Pippin from Lord of the Rings) and some World Snooker Champions: Mark Selby, Neil Robertson and Shaun Murphy. The day for me, started at 5.30am! We got to Milton Keynes at around 8am and qieued for the doors to open at 9am. As there is no charge to get in to this convention, it’s always a busy one. Once inside, we located Read More…

Happy Birthday to me!

So, Wednesday (7th) was my birthday! I had the whole week off work and decided to do a little something each day to celebrate. Monday – BBQ As it was early May Bank Holiday in the UK, all my family had the day off work and decided to throw me a birthday BBQ at my house. In true fashion, we had too much food prepared! My sister made me a birthday cake and cupcakes – they were themed around my favourite book as a child. Tuesday – Dinner and a movie Artur surprised me by booking the day off work Read More…

2012 – year review

I wanted to write this post before the end of 2012 but having a stomach bug but a damper on that idea, so I’m writing it now (this post was also going to be my goals for 2013 but the post got too long – that post will follow. 🙂 ) I’ve seen a few of my friends blogs review their past year categorised by month and decided to steal that idea. I’ve decided to focus on the main points that happened in each month. January I started off January by joining weight watchers. I didn’t set out to loose Read More…

Bitten 3 – True Blood Convention

This past weekend was Massive Events 3rd True Blood convention: Bitten 3(and unfortunately the last one they’re likely to do 🙁 – numbers were down, loosing money etc… But they may be having a “Vampire Ball” in the summer next year.), also it was my mum’s birthday – one of the big ones – and I took her as a not so secret surprise, i.e. she knew she was going but she didn’t know what ticket type I’d bought her. Friday run-down: Mum met me at work – after a long, stressful day of exports. We left at around 16:00 Read More…

Winter Memorabilia Show

Yesterday I was at the Winter Memorabilia show as said in one of my previous posts it’s a general signing event held in Birmingham, UK at the NEC. It’s held twice a year (in March and November – usually). This was my third time going to a Memorabilia event. We arrived at the event at around 8:15 in the morning and having purchased tickets in advance went and got in the already pretty big queue already forming, ready for entry at “bird entry” at 9:00 – standard entry was at 11:00. I went mostly to get a few autographs and Read More…
