The Christmas Tag

The lovely Amylou tagged me in The Christmas Tag and as it’s the lead up to Christmas, I thought I’d share my answers with you. 🙂 You can read Amylou’s answers here. So without further ado… The Christmas Tag 1. When do you start getting excited for Christmas Day? Usually the last week of work, we always go out for drinks on the last Friday before our Christmas shut down. I think that’s because my sister’s birthday is the 17th December so we try to hold the festivities until after. But I do get excited by the run up to Read More…

Christmas tree, O Christmas tree

… 🎼 Lit up like a star. ⭐ Anyone else love hearing that song? It always reminds me of Home Alone 2 when Kevin McCallister causes the cardboard Christmas tree to fall down! 😅 Decorating the Christmas tree is definitely one of my favourite things about this time of year. As a child I’d beg for our Christmas tree to go up as early as possible but my parents would always make us wait until 12 days before. Which is a tradition I’ve stuck to, more or less, since moving out of (and then back to) their house. We always Read More…

Favourite Christmas Movies*

Advent is in two days(!) and what better way to start off the Christmas period than by watching a Christmas movie? 🎅 My dad and I have a tradition that the first Christmas movie we watch is The Muppets Christmas Carol so that’s what I’ll be doing on December 1st. We have a sing-a-long session and it gets me in to the Christmas spirit. After that first movie most of my evenings in will be spent cuddled up on the sofa watching something Christmas-y. Deciding which Christmas movie to watch first

In our house we can never decide which Christmas movie to watch and often discussions get quite heated! It’s silly really. This year we decided to let fate decide and put the name of every Christmas movie we enjoy on a piece of card, folded it up and placed it in a little stocking that will live by our tv for the festive season. The idea is that whenever we want to watch a Christmas movie this season, we will randomly draw one from the stocking. So far it’s working out very well and we like the surprise. So far Read More…
