30 Spooky Halloween Questions

Happy Halloween! For those of you who celebrate it, I hope you all have a wonderfully spooky day, and for those that don’t I hope you have a great Saturday. 🙂 Today I’ll be doing some Halloween baking, pumpkin carving and having a movie marathon later on. We’re hopefully going for a moonlit walk this evening too and sharing some spooky stories around our fire pit!

I’m actually really looking forward to celebrating Halloween at home this year. But before the ‘at home’ celebrations start, I wanted to answer the 30 Spooky Halloween Questions tag which I found on Hollie’s blog. It was created by Kenna and I thought it would be a great way to celebrate Halloween on my blog.

30 Spooky Halloween Questions

1.) Favourite horror or Halloween-themed song?

The first one that came to mind was ‘This is Halloween’ from The Nightmare Before Christmas, but there are so many good options for your Halloween playlist, including Michael Jackon’s Thriller and The Monster Mash.

2.) Name something you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark forest or in an abandoned building?

Giant ants.

3.) Have you ever played with an Ouija Board?

I haven’t but I would be open to it. I’d probably try to contact my bunny (Blossom) who passed away this year,  make sure she’s happy and ask if she’s found our other bunny friends.

4.) Favourite horror monster or villain?

Pinhead from Hellraiser or Pennywise from the IT remake.

5.) The creepiest thing that’s ever happened to you while you were alone?

Nothing comes to mind, boring answer, I know!

6.) If you were dared to spend a night in a haunted house would you do it?

Yes! In fact, as I’ve mentioned before, I once stayed in a haunted hotel.

7.) Are you superstitious?

A little bit, I won’t walk under a ladder and toss a pinch of salt over my shoulder if I spill any, but I don’t let it dictate my life.

8.) Do you see figures in your peripheral vision?

Sometimes, yes, but I’m not sure if it’s just my mind playing tricks on me.

9.) Which urban legend scares you the most?

The first one that comes to mind is the axe wielding maniac sitting in the back seat of a car. Although I wouldn’t say it scares me, it’s just one I know of.

10.) Do you prefer gores or thrillers?

Either.

11.) Do you believe in multiple dimensions or worlds?

Yes.

12.) Ever made a potion of some sort?

I’ve never made a potion but I have practised spells.

13.) Do you get scared easily?

Not really, unless it comes to ants.

14.) Have you ever played Bloody Mary?

No, and I haven’t played ‘The Candyman’ either. Not because I think something would happen, I’ve just never really thought about playing either of them.

15.) Do you believe in demons/the devil?

Demons, yes, but I’m not too sure about ‘the devil’.

16.) You’re home alone and hear footsteps in your house, what do you do?

Not call out – that always goes badly in horror movies. I’d probably text or message my family members to make sure they haven’t come home early, then get out of the house and call 999 (or 911 in the US). Although there’s always the chance there’s someone else waiting outside though!

17.) If you got trapped in one scary movie, which would you choose?

The Addams Family or Casper would be fun choices, but for something a little scarier, I’d choose Friday 13th or IT.

18.) If you could wear one Halloween costume for the rest of your life, what will you be?

Wednesday Addams. It’s one of the comfiest costumes I’ve ever worn.

19.) Would you ever go to a graveyard at night?

I already have.

20.) In a zombie apocalypse what would be your weapon of choice?

Although I’d love a crossbow, I don’t think it would be practical. I’ve been to a crossbow shooting session and they’re very difficult to load if you’re short! Plus you would need to make your own bolts (or arrows) eventually too. The same goes for a longbow, you would run out of arrows eventually… and a gun would be too loud. So I think a machete would be my choice.

21.) Would you rather go to a Halloween party or trick or treating?

I think I’m too old for trick or treating, so I’ll say a Halloween party. Although it would be nice to get given sweets from our neighbours, haha.

22.) You’re in a horror movie. Are you the final girl, the first to die, the comic relief, the sceptic, the smart one, or the killer?

I think I’d be the final girl.

23.) Do you have to watch something happy after watching a horror movie so you can go to sleep?

Nope, I’m fine going to sleep afterwards.

24.) Whilst watching scary movies, are you the person who yells at the characters, the person with their eyes covered the whole time or the person who falls asleep?

Haha, I’m always the one yelling at the characters! Especially when the, usually blonde, girl runs upstairs when she should really be running out the door.

25.) Are you the one who gets scared, or the one who does the scaring?

I’m the one that does the scaring. I remember my family and I had just finished watching The Ring; my sister and I went upstairs and called the house phone, said “seven days” in our creepiest voice, then hung up. My mum wasn’t impressed.

26.) Favourite scary book?

IT, The Shining, Cell – Sensing a Stephen King theme here.

27.) How old were you when you saw your first horror movie?

It was Gremlins and I think I was about 4 years old.

28.) What was your first Halloween costume?

The first one I actually remember was a witch.

29.) What are you going to be for Halloween this year?

Unfortunately, I have no plans to dress up this year. But I may wear my vampire fangs (by Scarecrow) and some black gothic clothing, in case we have any trick-or-treaters.

30.) If you could have a spooky Halloween pet (black cat, owl, bat, rat, wolf), what would you pick?

A wolf.

Ooo some great questions here, I enjoyed reading your answers. I feel like Halloween passed my by this year, I’ve just been so snowed under with stuff and bleh. This has got me in the spooky mood, even if I am going to be fashionably late!
THE MONSTER MASH! I love that one.
I’m also quite fond of Pinhead. The revamped Pennywise is pretty cool too. I’ve not seen the 2nd yet, so I’ve still got that to look forward to. Have you seen it?
And I’m very sorry about your bunny. I hope Blossom is hopping happily wherever she is with her new bunny friends  ♥
