Things to do in The Rhondda Valleys | Guest post

How many of us opt to go aboard rather than explore our own country? Personally I love a staycation, they’re perfect for a weekend away (especially around a bank holiday!) and usually a lot easier, and cheaper to travel to. Over the next few weeks I’m teaming up with bloggers to talk about their local area and hopefully give you a few new staycation or day trip ideas. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿš˜๐Ÿ›ฃ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿ›ค First up is Katie, a mum to a daughter and son from the South Wales Valleys. Katie mainly blogs about general life as well as local attractions! You can catch up […]

Nessie hunting on Loch Ness

It’s been a while since I last posted and even longer since my Scottish road trip back in October! I’ve been suffering with my mental health and took a break from blogging as well as social media. Ryan and I broke up in early December as well. After our tour of Fort William and Ben Nevis we headed further north to Loch Ness with hopes of finding the Loch Ness monster. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We stayed at the Loch Less exhibition centre and had a Nessie hunting tour booked for the afternoon. The captain who took us out into the loch was […]

Scottish Highlands: Ben Nevis

After a busy few days in Edinburgh, Ryan and I continued our road trip and headed into the Scottish highlands. Our first stop was the Famous Grouse distillery which unfortunately wasn’t open for another hour when we arrived! ๐Ÿ™ But we took some photos and made a note to go back again at some point. In fact there are many things we want to go back and do in the Highlands. We headed west towards Fort William and stopped off at a lovely cafe / hostel for breakfast on the way. Check out the stunning views we enjoyed while tucking […]

Edinburgh – The Royal Mile, Ghost Tours & Pubs

Our final day in Edinburgh took us down the Royal Mile. We got up early, hopped on the tram and headed straight for the castle on the hill. Which is the start of the Royal Mile and as the name suggests is roughly a mile! The castle was impressive up close and the hill gave great views over Edinburgh. I do think I loved Alnwick castle more though. We took some photos and a couple of selfies before heading to the gift shop. I added another pressed penny to my collection and some more magnets for our fridge. We headed […]

Alnwick Castle and Gardens

Ryan and I have just gotten home from our road trip through part of England and Scotland. It was a long drive but I’m happy we did it instead of using public transport, we came across some picturesque towns and villages. Our holiday started with a 6 and a half hour drive up the Fosseway, an old Roman road connecting Exeter to Lincoln . According to our Google Map route we drove 14 hours and 40 minutes on our way up to Scotland! Alnmouth – seaviews and a haunted hotel Our first destination was the small seaside village of Alnmouth, […]

Hilton London Olympia | Hotel Review

After a long, tiring day at London Film and Comic con, we headed back to our hotel, the Hilton Olympia which was a 5 minute walk away which came in very handy getting up on Sunday to get our VQ tickets. Unfortunately that’s one of the only good things about our experience. The room was good, don’t get me wrong, it’s probably one pf the best hotel beds I’ve ever slept on, and I slept well but the service in the bar / restaurant was atrocious! We waited an hour for food only for it to come out cold and […]
