Sightseeing in London

On Thursday morning, mum and I took the National Express coach to London to do some sightseeing and to watch Bat out of Hell the musical at the London Colesium. I had surprised her with the tickets for Christmas last year and, as it was a matinee performance, we decided to make a day of it and do some sightseeing as well. We both booked the day off work then decided to turn one day sightseeing into two and booked the Friday off too.  We stayed at the Easy Hotel in Victoria, it’s a budget hotel, no frills but is […]

The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens

According to my mum, we used to go to The Cotswold Wildlife Park frequently when I was a child, and according to my Grampy I used to insist on the reptile house first to see the “gwanas” (iguanas). I don’t remember! The earliest memory I have of here is from near my 21st birthday when I visited with my mum and auntie. Seems likely though as my favourite part of the park as an adult, except for the penguins (obviously) are the reptiles and insects. The last time I came here was with my sister and Ryan and, according to […]

Day trip to London

It was our 2 year dating anniversary yesterday and we took a trip to London for the day to celebrate and to see Wicked at the west end. I’ve been to London countless times in the past 9 years, mostly for comic con, sight seeing or for a concert. Most of the time I travelled with family or my partner but a few of them I travelled alone. The first time I travelled alone was to go to The WB Harry Potter set tour with my friend Sarah, I made a mistake when purchasing my tube ticket on that trip […]

How we spent our Staycation part 2

A couple of months ago I talked about how Ryan and I spent our Staycation and that we had another one coming up in early May. The weather was bizarre this week, a mixture of rain, sun and thunderstorms, which meant we couldn’t do as many outdoor activities as we hoped. Sunday, we went to the Dragon Boat Reggatta in Gloucester where they had live music, some stalls and boat racing throughout the day. On the way home we took a detour to visit Ryan’s mum in the Forest of Dean. The weather was great, warm and sunny. On Monday […]

How we spent our Staycation

We had a Staycation last week, the weather was pretty good. Cloudy and not too warm on some of the days but the rain held off! 🙂 In my last post I wrote a list of things we planned to do with our week off, here’s what we decided on. Monday was mostly spent at home and at the gym. Ryan has a weekly training session on a Monday and I have an evening class so we planned around these and had pepperoni pizza for dinner. Ryan’s mum was admitted to hospital Monday morning after breaking her hip and leg; […]

Weymouth – a trip down memory lane

Weymouth is one of my favourite places to go on holiday in the UK, my family used to go here every year and either stay at a campsite here or down the road at Westbay. We’ve also stayed in The Bridport Arms, Westbay as well. There are so many things to do in this part of the UK from fossil hunting in Lulworth Cove to the dinosaur museum in Lyme Regis. The lighthouse at Portman Bill to the beach at Weymouth itself. My parents often go to the Tank Museum at nearby Bovington. It’s a great part of the UK […]
