Anxiety Guide to Comic Con

I’ve been attending various comic con events throughout the UK (and one in Germany) for the past 11 years now. It’s the perfect way for me to spend time with like-minded people, meet up with friends I don’t see very often, and meet some of the actors and actresses I admire. But as the years have gone by and comic con has become more “mainstream”, the crowds have certainly gotten bigger! Which isn’t ideal for someone who suffers from anxiety. So with MCM Birmingham, Wales Comic-Con, and other comic con events coming up over the next few weeks, I thought […]

London Film and Comic Con 2019

Last weekend my family and I made our annual trip to Olympia for London Film and Comic Con 2019. It’s always one of highlights of the convention calendar for me and this year marks our tenth year of attending! I can’t quite believe I’ve been going to conventions for a over decade now (my first was Dalek Invasion back in 2008). London Film and Comic Con 2019 was set to be the biggest yet, with a guest list including Aquaman’s Jason Mamoa, Charlie Sheen, Batman’s Val Kilmer and Christina Ricci, to name but a few. Honestly the guest list gets […]

What’s in my bag? – Comic con edition

With comic con season in full swing, I thought now would be the perfect time to share what essentials I pack in my day bag. This is for a 3-day weekend convention and based on what I brought with me to London Film and Comic Con this past weekend (full write up on that to follow!). Ticket – Many conventions organisers now accept an e-ticket and some even have their own app. However I still like a paper copy in case my phone battery dies – which has happened. I usually spend a lot of battery power taking photos and […]

London Film and Comic Con 2018

Last month my family and I made our yearly trip to the Olympia Exhibition Centre for London Film and Comic con (LFCC). The event is held over three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) at the end of July and the highlight of the convention calendar for me. The show gets bigger every year and, in my opinion, this year’s line up was fantastic. With big names such as Jason Mamoa (Aquaman, Game of Thrones), Sam Neil (Jurassic Park), Meat Loaf and Steven Seagal attending the event. Along with not one, not two, but eight doctors from Doctor Who appearing over […]

London Film and Comic Con 2017 – Day 2 – Alyson Hannigan & YALC

Catch up on Day 1 here! 🙂 Another early start Sunday as I decided to get my new Witchcraft journal signed by Alyson. I wasn’t sure if my diamond pass allowed me to go down her autograph queue a second time so I picked up a VQ ticket (number 54 just in case). The 5 of us decided to have a group photo on the Big Bang Theory sofa and each had a turn in Sheldon’s spot. We had 5 photos so were able to do 5 different poses. I’ve done prop photo shoots before bit this was definitely one […]

Winter Memorabilia Show Birmingham, November 2010

Yesterday was the Winter Memorabilia Show at the Birmingham NEC. A comic convention covering multiple fandoms, with celebrity guests, talks, photo ops, a large dealers room and so much more. It’s held twice a year (in March and November) and this marks my third time attending a Memorabilia event. The Winter Memorabilia Show is always one of the highlights of the convention calendar for me and a great way to finish our year. Like usual we arrived at the show at around 8:15 in the morning and headed straight to the ‘pre-paid’ queue. I think it’s always worth getting to […]
