Date night at Chiquito, Swindon

One of my favourite foods to cook at home is Mexican. Whether that’s enchiladas, nachos (dairy free of course) or a good bean chilli, it’s something I always find myself tucking into at least once a week. Honestly if I could eat Mexican food all the time I’d be happy. Along with cooking at home, I also used to love going to Chiquito, a Mexican restaurant chain in the UK. So, partly for my exposure therapy and partly because we fancied a date night out for a change. Aaron and I decided to go there for food last Sunday followed […]

Breakfast at The Gateway, South Cerney

On one of our recent shopping trips together, my dad and I stopped in The Gateway at South Cerney for breakfast. Neither of us had been there before but decided to try it out and hoped it would become another of our regular breakfast stops. Spoiler – it has. 😀 The Gateway is situated by one of the many lakes at South Cerney watermark, which I previously mentioned when Ryan and I went paddle boarding earlier this year. It’s a short walk from their in fact and the Costwold Outdoor is opposite, there’s an abundance of free parking and is […]

Lunch at LBs Cafe (formally the Swan Yard cafe)

When I posted my Cirencester town guide I spoke about Swan Yard and Blackjack Street which are a couple of little side streets in the town, the former was home to the Swan Yard Cafe which was one of my favourite cafes. It closed a few years ago, changed hands, got a new menu, new layout and a new name, and, I didn’t go back after that. I had nothing against the place, the layout and decor looked great and I hadn’t even tried the new menu which sounded great too, but I didn’t go back. I don’t like change […]

Bar snacks at The Waggon and Horses, Cirencester

A couple of week’s ago Ryan and I met up with my family in one of our local pubs, The Waggon and Horses for a few drinks after work. I was starving, so decided to try one of their bar snacks; chicken in a basket. When I ordered the dish I expected chicken nuggets or some other breaded chicken but was presently surprised to receive chips and two chicken breasts with the skin on, yummy. There were two options for the dish, spicy or non-spicy. I went for spicy and quickly found out the spicy part was the chips. They […]

Hilton London Olympia | Hotel Review

After a long, tiring day at London Film and Comic con, we headed back to our hotel, the Hilton Olympia which was a 5 minute walk away which came in very handy getting up on Sunday to get our VQ tickets. Unfortunately that’s one of the only good things about our experience. The room was good, don’t get me wrong, it’s probably one pf the best hotel beds I’ve ever slept on, and I slept well but the service in the bar / restaurant was atrocious! We waited an hour for food only for it to come out cold and […]
