Dinner date to Piazza Fontana
Ryan and I haven’t gone out to eat, just the two of us in a while – in fact it may have even been around this time last year! Now don’t get me wrong, we have a lot of lovely date nights in and have gone to the cinema and the theatre for a comedy show recently, but we haven’t been out to eat. We both prefer home cooking (or a cheeky take away! 😉 ), also Ryan’s a professional Chef and can be very picky about where he goes to eat!
So last Friday the 10th we went out. We decided to go to Piazza Fontana, a little Italian restaurant in Cirencester (which I spoke about in my ‘Favourite places to eat in Cirencester’ post) as it was the place we went to on our first dinner date. 🙂 I had spaghetti carbonara and Ryan had a pizza on that occasion, both were delicious. I really enjoy the atmosphere there too, we’ve been countless times since.
I booked a table, we dressed up a little – he put on a nice cardigan and jeans and I put on one of my favourite dresses – and had a lovely evening together. It made a nice change.
We sat down and they took our drinks order – a soft drink for me, as I was driving and an Italian larger for Ryan. I like that they offer Italian largers at the restaurant, it’s a nice touch.
We shared a couple of starters, the antipasti platter for one and some focaccia paesana which was very similar to garlic pizza bread. Both were delicious and served with a trio of oils.
For our mains we both had pizza, I had the romana (cheese and ham) and Ryan had a spicy one with pepperoni and chilli. They were beautiful! We took our left overs home in a pizza box.
For dessert I indulged in crepes covered in dark chocolate sauce and Ryan had tiramisu. My crepes were served warm and I really enjoyed them. I also tried a bit of Ryan’s dessert too. 😉
The service was great too, the staff were very friendly and offered us some complimentary amaretto after our meal and some Fox’s mints.
After food we watched the new episode of Legion and Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge. Two of our favourite shows at the moment.

Wow what a feast!
We’re actually going out tonight – it’s nice when it’s just the two of us and we can relax and just enjoy each other’s company with no distractions. Especially after a busy week!
