Goals for 2017
There are a few things I want to accomplish throughout the next year or two, some are things I used to do that I want to get back to and some are new things I want to try.
Get back to my goal weight.
I reached my goal weight in September 2012, having started a healthy eating plan in the January. In early 2015 I began comfort eating and put nearly all the weight back on again! Six months ago I was a few pound short of my goal weight then a few stressful things happened in my life and the comfort eating started. I am now a stone away from my goal weight (14lbs).
My aim for 2017 is to get back to my goal weight by eating healthy (I follow the Weight Watchers smart points or no count eating plans) and getting back to my exercise classes. I used to go to Zuma, LBT (legs, bums and tums) and body balance (a mix of yoga, ti-chi and pilates) but haven’t gone to a class since July! I want to get back to that and have my first Zuma class booked for January 9th.
Transfer money to my savings account each month.
I intend to save money (I have a number in my head) every month in 2017. My ultimate goal is to be able to save money for a deposit on a house and to have an emergency fund in case I ever run into financial difficulties. I have recently finished paying off two credit cards and an overdraft.
Organise and declutter.
Starting with going through my wardrobe (again), my dvd and book collections and jewellery. The aim will be to downsize and keep things that I love or have used within the past six months / year, of course when it comes to clothes my aim will be to do this seasonally as I haven’t needed my Summer clothes recently but will do in six months or so (praying for sunshine!).
I have attached a calendar to our fridge for scheduling our appointments and events we want to attend throughout the year. I keep a copy on my phone but having it in plain sight for both of us will be beneficial; we had issues this year with forgetting to book time of work, resulting in making plans very last minute .
I intend to write about my progress through my blog periodically throughout the year.
I’d like to wish everyone a Happy and prosperous New Year and be safe however you choose to celebrate. I’m likely staying in nursing the flu bug I caught over Christmas break. π

These all sound like amazing, positive goals! π I love it. I was really thrilled to read about all your intentions. Itβs a shame you put weight back on but itβs a great start that you already booked a class, so youβre on your way there π
Sounds like you have done well financially recently β saving is definitely the hard part. I am usually able to save every month, but the end of the year is always hard with Christmas and other stuff. I am going to try and budget a bit and watch what I spend money on this year. π
Iβm glad to hear you are going to organise and declutter! That is something I really live for and have been doing for many years. Itβs easy to lose sight of how much stuff we keep, haha. Jewellery is one that I struggle with because I used to collect and purchase so much a few years ago. π¦ But I found it helped, when my amounts got out of control, to actually list out all the items. π
Looking forward to reading more about you decluttering and kicking ass in your weight loss goal and savings goal πβ€οΈ
