Small Acts of Kindness You Can Try at Home

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. An annual event hosted by the Mental Health Foundation whose aim is to raise awareness of mental health issues by promoting conversation and breaking down the stigma. And this year is all about kindness, which seems fitting given the current world we’re living in. But while you may not be able to visit your friends and family at the moment, there are still so many small acts of kindness you can try at home to show them you care. Because I think it’s safe to say, the coronavirus has affected us all in […]

My Birthday Celebrations in Lockdown

My “lockdown birthday” was last week – May 7th to be exact – and as I’m writing this I’m certainly feeling the post-birthday blues. And I’m quite sad it’s over for another year. Usually, we go out for the day, or to one of my favourite restaurants, but it was nice to have a relaxing day at home instead. There were also some unexpected surprises (all from a safe distance, of course) from a few of my loved ones. Celebrating my birthday in lockdown wasn’t something I was expecting but it turned out to be one of the best. Aaron […]

Have You Ever? – Gaming Edition

I’m sure you’ve all heard of the party game ‘Never Have I Ever?’, right? If not, it’s a drinking game, in which the first person says something they have never done, and anyone who has done that thing takes a drink. Well, Michelle at GeekGirl has created a video game twist on this classic drinking game. Where all the questions are related to gaming. Since Aaron and I often game together  – even more so recently – I thought it would be fun to hear his answers as well, like we did for ‘The Gamer Tag‘ and ‘The Pokemon Tag‘. […]

Star Wars Tag – May the 4th Be With You.

Happy Star Wars Day and May the 4th be with you! Today Aaron and I will be celebrating by watching as many of the Star Wars movies as we can! In time line order. And as you’re reading this we’re already starting Episode I : The Phantom Menace. I think it’s worth mentioning that the total watch-time for Episodes I-IX is 17 hours and 57 minutes. that excludes the two spin-off movies! So we should be able to fit in 7 or 8 of them today, with the remaining movies being watched tomorrow for ‘Revenge of the Fifth’, and finishing […]

Regular readers will know that I love a staycation, and even more so if I can  take my time travelling to my destination. I love a good road trip. The only problem is the costs can soon mount up – from fuel costs, to campsite, and more. So when Kelly got in touch wanting to share her experiences of budget van travel and her recent road trips, I was more than happy to hear from her. Hello everyone. My name is Kelly and I run The Kelly Diane Report. I’ve previously run another blog but for various personal reasons, closed […]

How to Celebrate Your Lockdown Birthday

Next Thursday is my “lockdown birthday” (more on that later), and with the UK lockdown likely being extended another three weeks, I had been trying to come up with ideas on how to celebrate this year. Usually, I’d go on a day trip, often to Birdland, or the Cotswold Wildlife Park, and have dinner in one of my favourite restaurants. Instead, I’m planning a relaxing day at home followed by a nature walk, a few movies, and probably a little rum. It will be lovely to spend the day with Aaron.  But it will also be strange not seeing my […]
