‘Tis the season.

Where has the time gone? Halloween and Bonfire Night have both been and gone and Christmas is right around the corner!

Picking up where I left off last time, we didn’t end up dressing up as characters from The Rocky Horror Picture Show for Halloween in the end. Time got away from us and the costume one of us was planning on ending up being too small. 🙁 So we looked at other options – I was a mummy, dad went as Uncle Fester from the Addams Family (complete with light bulb) and, for those of you familiar with The Walking Dead, Ryan went as Glenn after his run in with Neegan! Complete with Lucille.

We spent the evening at a local Halloween party that was playing live music, they had a couple of rock bands playing and had decorated the place with cobwebs, signs, skeletons etc. It was a great night and we all had a good time. Except mum who was feeling unwell but still came out with us all. She didn’t dress up though.

Then came Bonfire Night where Ryan and I went to a local fireworks display. The fireworks themselves were very impressive but the side entertainment was severely lacking and we were disappointed for the amount of money it cost to get in! It’s unlikely we’ll be going to that one again but do plan to go to another local one next year.

With the run up to Christmas , we have so many things planned with family and friends and started the end of November with his younger brothers wedding! Ryan was best man and the bride and groom had asked if I could wear something in the wedding colour scheme (red or gold), queue months of hunting for the perfect outfit and ending up finding the one with days until the wedding!

The ceremony was beautiful, I had tears in my eyes and the reception was a lot of fun. The drinks were flowing that night!

Following the wedding, we had a family breakfast with the newlyweds before they headed off on their honeymoon to Dubai and Sri Lanka. They got back towards the end of last week, I wasn’t expecting presents but they did bring me a lovely bag with elephants on it from Dubai. 🙂 Along with some playing cards and a couple of magnets for Ryan and I.

My friend of around 16 years and I took a trip to Cardiff at the end of November to meet Busted at a signing for their new album. It was a childhood wish fulfilled for the two of us. 😀

The weekend after the wedding, dad, Ryan and I went to a Christmas light switch on and market at Bourton-on-the-Water. The scenery was beautiful and they had a Christmas tree set up in the water that runs through the village. It was packed though and took us half an hour to find an parking space! We’ll definitely be leaving earlier to go there next year.

Ryan and I went to another Christmas Market last week – Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland in London. It’s a large German style market with side attractions. We started the morning with ice skating infront of The Natural History Museum; I’ve never ice skated before this and was a bit wobbly at first but soon got the hang of it.

At Winter Wonderland we went to see their ‘Magic Ice Kingdom’ which was a tour at sub zero temperatures, to view some breathtaking ice sculptures. My favourite and I think the most impressive one was the ship.

We also popped into Harrods, The Lego Store and visited China Town.

It’s been a busy few weeks (!!) and there’s still so much to do before December 25th. Pantomimes, my office Christmas party, my sisters birthday, family meals etc. Happy to report I’ve finished  my Christmas shopping, just need wrapping and some need to be posted (by the end of next week).

In case things get to crazy busy life wise, I’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🎄

Hope you have a great Christmas and New Year! 🙂
I remember Busted from way back – I didn’t know they were still around. But glad you had a childhood dream come true haha!

I remember going to an ice world with my cousins and uncle once. It was just one big room with ice sculptures 🙂 But it was awesome.
