Dinner date to Piazza Fontana

Ryan and I haven’t gone out to eat, just the two of us in a while – in fact it may have even been around this time last year! Now don’t get me wrong, we have a lot of lovely date nights in and have gone to the cinema and the theatre for a comedy show recently, but we haven’t been out to eat. We both prefer home cooking (or a cheeky take away! 😉 ), also Ryan’s a professional Chef and can be very picky about where he goes to eat!   So last Friday the 10th we went Read More…

20 years of Buffy the Vampire Slayer

On March 10th 1997 the first season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer aired in the USA, that’s right – Buffy is 20 years old today! That makes me feel old… I’ve been watching Buffy since it first aired in the UK and have rewatched it countless times on VHS and DVD.  I’ve had some great experiences because of Buffy, conventions, themed parties, acting out scenes from Buffy and putting on shows of Once More With Feeling (the musical episode) as a kid etc. I’ve also made many great friends through our mutual love of Buffy that it wouldn’t seem right Read More…

Chris Ramsey at The Everyman Theatre Cheltenham

The Everyman Theatre is a Grade II listed building in Regent Street, Cheltenham. Home to various theatre productions, ballets, comedy shows and an annual pantomime. I’ve been coming to the pantomime with my family for as long as I can remember – it’s one of our Christmas traditions.  There are two stages in the building – the 694 seat main stage and the 60 seat Studio Theatre, although I’ve never been to a production at the latter. The theatre boasts two bars with seating and you can buy some snacks – homemade cakes, chocolate bars and, my favourite, little tubs Read More…

Best for Breakfast – Cheltenham & Swindon

I know I’ve touched on this before with my favourite places to eat in Cirencester post, but wanted to talk about my favourite places to eat a bit further afield. Namely in Cheltenham and Swindon which I go to often for shopping and cinema trips. Best for breakfast around Cirencester Cheltenham There are two places we usually go for breakfast in Cheltenham; Fresh Crust pasty shop and Bill’s. We’ve been going to Fresh Crust pasty shop for years now, back when it was in Cheltenham’s Beechwood shopping centre and now with its shop in Regent Street. I highly recommend it. Read More…

Antipasti & Tapas date night

Inspired by the tapas selection we had at Toro Lounge in December, Ryan and I decided to have a antipasti and tapas date night. We went to our local Lidl and bought various meats, rolls and baguettes, some hummus, an olive selection box, and the great oil server you can see in the photo. I love the middle section of both Lidl and Aldi where they display home and ware and seasonal goods. You never know what you’ll find.  The oil server came with extra virgin olive oil, chilli infused oil and balsamic vinegar. The slate platter is also from Read More…

Cirencester Amphitheatre and Querns Wood

Today I went on a walk through Cirencester, mostly to catch Pokemon on the Pokemon Go game for Android(!) 😉 but also to enjoy some time outdoors. I like walking but it’s been very cold lately and I haven’t been able to go out walking much. Thankfully today was a lot warmer and perfect for a walk.  I stopped off in town and had lunch in The West Cornwall Pasty shop, did a bit of retail therapy (I bought a pair of jeans from a charity shop for £5 – bargain!) and took a walk around the outskirts of Cirencester Read More…
