Wicksteed Fitness Playgrounds and Outdoor Gyms

Some of my colleagues and I have recently signed up for the Monster Race this year, which is a 5km or 10km obstacle course with mud, water and man made obstacles to conquer (we’re signed up for the 10km); I started my training for it at the weekend. Today’s training was interval running followed by yoga, but I also had an impromptu workout in a local park! I warmed up with a 10 minute run focussing on interval training to work on improving my pace. I did 2 minutes sprinting followed by a 1 minute walk to cool down, the Read More…

No bake Double Decker cheesecake

My dad’s birthday was Wednesday, so we went for food at a local pub, called The Golden Farm, to celebrate. It’s re-opened under new management and this was our first time trying the new menu. Wednesday is their grill night! Steaks, chicken, cumberland sausage, scampi and a vegetarian dish were offered, as well as a few specials. I chose the garlic chicken dish and Dad enjoyed a gammon steak with egg, the meals were cooked by my sister’s partner who works there. All the dishes were served with garlic bread, chips and a side salad, mum and Ryan had Cumberland Read More…

Stand up paddle boarding with Cotswold Water Park

Ryan and I headed to the Cotswold Water Park last weekend to try out stand up paddle boarding on one of their lakes, we chose the facilities provided by Cotswold Water Park Hire, but there are many companies offering this and other water activities across the park. There’s also an inland beach and water obstacle course, and BBQ rental. The majority of the activities are first come first served and you don’t need to prebook but I’d recommend it if you’re going as a larger group, just in case. Cotswold Water Park Hire is based at lake 86, near the Gateway information Read More…

Geeky Clean: Game of Foams crate review

I was going through my Facebook news feed back in April and came across a sponsored post for a page called Geeky Clean, an online store selling handmade soaps, candles and other bath and shower products. I especially love the Harry Potter sorting hat bath bombs!  The post that brought me to them, however, was offering Serenity, Doctor Who and Star Trek themed soaps! Of course I bought all three (the latter being a gift for my dad). My ordered arrived quickly, was well packaged and I loved that the soaps were stored in little mason jars. Very cute! Every month Geeky Clean offer a Read More…

Sightseeing in London

On Thursday morning, mum and I took the National Express coach to London to do some sightseeing and to watch Bat out of Hell the musical at the London Colesium. I had surprised her with the tickets for Christmas last year and, as it was a matinee performance, we decided to make a day of it and do some sightseeing as well. We both booked the day off work then decided to turn one day sightseeing into two and booked the Friday off too.  We stayed at the Easy Hotel in Victoria, it’s a budget hotel, no frills but is Read More…

Tank Fest 2017

I briefly spoke about the Tank Museum at Bovington in my Weymouth – a trip down memory lane post. I’ve been to the museum countless times as a child and in recent years have been attending their Tank Fest event where they have stalls, displays, reenactors and an arena battle. It’s a great event and I enjoy learning about the history of the tanks they have at the museum. They also host other events such as Tiger Day (which is specific to the Tiger tanks) and a Dalek / Sci-fi convention. We left home at 6.30 this Saturday morning and Read More…
